Bug Description

The Items Out Count in the patron summary does not tally the overdue and long overdue items, and, when the appropriate OU setting is enabled/disabled, the lost and claims returned item.

My expectation is that the tally of Items Out in the patron summary would always include overdue and long overdue items. In addition, it should include lost items when the "Include Lost circulations in lump sum tallies in Patron Display" OU Setting is enabled. It should include claims returned items when the "Do not include outstanding Claims returned circulations in lump sum tallies in Patron Display" is Unset or set to False.

The result is that the Items Out tally in the patron summary sidebar is different from the Items Out tally that displays along the top of the screen (see below screenshot). The Items Out tally at the top of the patron record appears to be calculating correctly.

I think this may be resolved. When I test, I see the claimed return and lost items in the patron's overall Items Out tally correctly. I did not test Long Overdue.

Hi Erica,

I just tried this on webby to verify that I'm seeing the same behavior there as I see on our test server. You can see the problem at
https://webby.evergreencatalog.com/eg/staff/circ/patron/3580/

The patron's Items Out count in the left sidebar displays as 0 even though the patron has two overdues. In the tabs along the top, the Items Out appropriately displays as 2. Can you double-check again?

I've also included a screenshot.

Thanks!
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

The link isn't working for me, but I tracked your patron down (User ID 3580 for anyone testing this). I see the inconsistency with the Item Out count now. I also compared it to the current behavior in version 2.9.0, where it appears to be functioning as expected.

As an aside, for anyone not familiar with the sidebar tallies within the current staff client, make sure you have Library Setting: Patron circulation summary is horizontal set to False to compare the two screens.

I tested items out count with default settings and enabling/disabling related OU display settings for lump sum tallies. Code works as desired.

I have tested this code and consent to signing off on it with my name, jlundgren and my email address <email address hidden>.
