Bug Description

Evergreen 2.7.2
OpenSRF 2.3
PostgreSQL 9.1.14
Ubuntu 12.04.5

Applied patch mentioned in bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1398926 and this solved the flat text editor issue.

When no other marc fields are edited on the screen (only a CTRL-S symbol insert performed) the symbol does not save.

If you tab out of the field in question (264 4 c in this case) then the save works.

I am told this symbol will be prevalent in RDA records by the catalogers...

Example screen showing inserted symbol attached for reference.

It's not a common action but if you load a record, click in a subfield and press Crtrl+S to choose a symbol, the record is not marked edited so clicking Save does nothing. Pressing a key on the keyboard is required to trigger the edit bit and allow the record to save.

summary: - diacritics character (CTRL-S) only saves upon tab out of field

The insert symbol window is no longer how symbols are put into records, and I can't replicate the save failure in the web client angular MARC editor.
