Bug Description

The calendar is a browser feature rather than an Evergreen feature. The calendar works in Chrome, Safari, Opera, and multiple mobile browsers, but you cannot use it if you are accessing the web client in Firefox on your desktop computer. For example, you cannot use the calendar to set a specific due date at checkout.

My two cents - I'm in favor of it being as cross-platform as possible and not relying on browser-specific functionality.

Just to clarify, we are not using any browser-specific functionality. We're using HTML5 date inputs:

http://www.w3.org/TR/html-markup/input.date.html

It's supported pretty much everywhere but Firefox:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=825294

If FF does not implement date inputs soon, we will likely want to do something akin to what's described here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22983013/how-to-get-html-5-input-type-date-working-in-firefox-and-or-ie-10
http://afarkas.github.io/webshim/demos/index.html

It may be little consolation, but you can enter ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD) in the date inputs in Firefox.

The may be a duplicate of bug #1554714, pending discussion.

This appears to no longer be an issue as of Firefox 47.0 on Windows.
