Bug Description

If I check out multiple non-barcoded items (ie, 10 honor system paperbacks) to a patron in the staff client, it adds a line item to the receipt for each one as a reminder to the patron how many they have checked out.

If I do the same thing through the Standalone, it only adds a single line item to the receipt with no indication how many items were taken. Ideally, this would have the same behavior as it does in the staff client.

This can be solved quickly by adding a row to your "offline_checkout" receipt template like this:

Number of Non-Cataloged Items: %noncat_count%<br/>

This will display as:

Barcode: CONS : Paperback Book
Due: 2014-12-25
Number of Non-Cataloged Items: 4
Due: 2014-12-25

This, however, has a big downside. When you check out a regular item, you still will see that line which is totally irrelevant for an item with a barcode, such as:

Barcode: 21412214121234
Due: 2014-12-25
Number of Non-Cataloged Items:
Due: 2014-12-25

Thomas Berzansky and MVLC have provided some creative examples for how one might deal with this bug (provided you are using Mozilla Print Strategy) by making use of the Swap Slip trick at http://masslnc.cwmars.org/node/2528. Thanks for the info MVLC folks!

Updating this ticket to say this is still a problem with the 3.0.0 web client offline receipts.

Still a problem in 3.1 web client (it also doesn't print a title or item type, which is a different bug). Example attached of default receipt from offline web client where 3 non-cataloged items were checked out.

I'm assuming this is the problem we are having. We have a collection of books that are not barcoded and checked out just by the number. Previously, the receipt use to print a due date. On the web client it prints blank. I'm attaching a screen shot of both the old and new receipt.

Marking this as Won't Fix since it was originally about the XUL client's standalone client, and a web client fix is coming shortly with bug #1806783.
