Bug Description

Evergreen version: master:

Staff sometimes accidentally click the Receive/Move Selected option in Serials Control view before they are ready to receive the issue. If the receive is set to create a new unit or to Auto per Item, the interface will display a pop-up box asking for a barcode. This dialog also automatically enters @@AUTO in this box.

When our users hit "Cancel" here, they expect the system to cancel the whole process of receiving item. Instead, they receive a message saying that an invalid barcode was entered and informing them that the system will default to the system-generated call number.

Our users would prefer to see behavior where hitting "Cancel" will cancel the receive process. Since hitting "OK" also defaults to the system-generated call number, users won't lose any functionality if that "Cancel" button behaves differently. We would also like to see the same with the Call Number entry box that pops up after the barcode box.

This changed behavior will result in four fewer clicks when the receive button is accidentally clicked.

Noting that the serials interface being built for the web staff client does not replicate this bug.

Confirmed that this is no longer an issue in the web client. Since the XUL client is now deprecated, I"m setting this to Won't Fix.
