Bug Description

Splitting this off from LP#954173 which was a bug report that contained a feature request, in addition to a bug.

Here is George Duimovich's original request:

"It would be great to be able to use the my list functionality to add items to record buckets. The current workflow in 2.1 Staff Client for adding bib items to record buckets could be significantly improved if we could:

"View my list" > Actions for these items >

and then have option to transfer all or selected items from 'My list' to a record bucket for subsequent processing (case example: de-duplication)."

For fun:

My Lists *are* record buckets. I believe if you know the ID you can load them in the staff client already.

So making the bucket number for the lists visible from the staff client would make them accessible for use. That would be nifty.

Just noticed this: The bucket id number for the list can be seen when you open the bucket in the OPAC. It's the last part of the web address, e.g. bbid=1755 So to open the bucket, just select Retrieve shared buckets in Record Buckets and enter the number. If you created the list with that log-in, once it's open you can also add things to the bucket from the Record Query tab. Hope that helps, George.

Tempted to say triaged, but I'm generally reserving that for wishlist bugs that have a branch and have the pullrequest tag.

I've made a couple of exceptions, but not many so far.

I think a solution would be to add the my lists as buckets in the cataloging record buckets for any owned by the logged in user. Others could be added if public, provided you know the id. Maybe that interface could use some elaboration as well?

Although there is more flexibility in the web client, especially with the addition of baskets, I'm giving a big +1 to Jason's suggestion of displaying a users lists in their list of record buckets.

Attempting to revive this by setting it to Confirmed.

This has come up as an issue in our consortium. I agree with Terran that Jason's approach in comment 4 is at least a good start and may be all that's needed.

The new Angular staff catalog's pop up modal for adding a basket to a bucket works for lists if you know the ID of the list, so it *seems* like it wouldn't be a big step to show the names of the lists in a select box?

And in the same vein, to show a dropdown of 'my lists' along with the dropdown of 'my bukets' in the Record Buckets interface?

Maybe even have the lists and buckets appear on the same dropdown with some indicator to differentiate them?

- Bucket: Bad Records to Clean Up
- Bucket: Items to Weed
- List: Mystery Books to Read
- List: SF Books to Read
