Bug Description

Binary package hint: cloud-utils

$ ec2metadata --local-ipv4
Failure: 500 Internal Server Error

That is verified on 10.04 and 10.10 guests.

The issue is that ec2metadata requests a url like:
http://169.254.169.254/2008-02-01/meta-data/local-ipv4/

eucalyptus does not handle the trailing / as EC2 does.

This bug was fixed in the package cloud-utils - 0.17ubuntu1

---------------
cloud-utils (0.17ubuntu1) natty; urgency=low

  * uec-publish-tarball: add --rename-[kernel,ramdisk,image] flags
  * add support for shorter syntax in uec-query-builds
  * fix ec2metadata under Eucalyptus (LP: #676144)
  * move write-mime-multipart from cloud-init to cloud-init-multipart
    in cloud-utils
