suddenly stopped working (MacOS X v. 10.4.11)

ETR was working fine until final race in Niehoff section - crashed when trying to play final race.
Soon after this, ETR wouldn't show the startup screen, just black screen + pointer. Had to force quit. :(
Am bereft without my FUN game !
