Bug Description

The system is kubuntu 14.04.1 and when I try to export the equation, it only refreshes the equation.

By the way, this is the most useful app in creating equations, well done.

Thanks for your bug report and for the videos. They really helped a lot to better understand the issue!

This is not actually a bug, it is a feature :D

Explanation: "Export to..." was intended to actually set the type of the file to be used when you drag-n-drop the equation (to office,, desktop, etc.).

So, it is a bug of bad nameing and because of a lack of feedback what action is actually doing. For this reason, I am going to keep this untill I find a better solution.

Regarding your questions from the videos:
- You can write formated text (have spaces between words) only in Text Mode. Not in the Display Environment.
- I can not explain why Equalx does not appear in the Task Manager. I didn't have this problem and it should appear.

I didn't understand what "export" means. In most apps export produces a file directly. Maybe you could rename it as "drag'n'drop as..".

Sure. I will change the name of the action in the next version.

besides that, the problem with the status bar and the crash. It is a
different bug. Check my videos again please.

I can confirm the bugs. It seems these appear only when equalx is launched from an icon and not by running directly the executable.

I'll have to investigate further to see why this appears on KDE.

So it was the desktop file that created these problems. The fix is commited and it will be available in the next release.

That is cool. Another thing I want to address please.
In your webpage http://equalx.sourceforge.net/downloads.html it is written;

" *Requirements. EqualX needs a TeX system to generate equations -
specifically the programs *pdflatex*, *gs* and *pdftocairo*.
For Windows the recommended TeX distribution is MiKTeX <http://miktex.org/>.
On Windows you may also require Visual C++ Redistributable
<http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679#>. Install
this only if you get an error complaining about missing *MSVCR110.dll*,
otherwise you don't need it.
On Linux, the binary packages should install all requirements
automatically. "

However, it is not so.
when I install equalx from your ppa in kubuntu, it does not install the
required programs *pdflatex*, *gs* and *pdftocairo*.
As I wrote in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339244, it needs the
package *texlive-base *in order to function properly*. *It should be added
as
a note to your site to avoid confusion.

Also I noticed that equalx is coming to
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/equalx which is cool.
