dbCa links don't work when pointed to a DBF_{IN|
dbCa always uses DBR_CTRL_DOUBLE to fetch channel attributes, irrespective of the field type it's going to make requests with. When dbGetLinkField() sees that DBR type it rejects it, so the link can't be initialized properly.
