Bug Description

After install EnvyNG without problems and i try to install nvidia driver a message appears like this " This version of Ubuntu doesn't support your graphics adapter"
On Gutsy i have no problems and the driver works fine.
Are there any problem with 8 Nvidia series and Ubuntu 8.04?
Thanks.

Can you post the output of this command so that I can add the ID of your card to EnvyNG's list?

lscpi -n | grep 300

In the meantime you can install the latest driver by using EnvyNG's manual installation

This is the msg exactly with i run envyng -t

EnvyNG ERROR: Envy does not recognise your card as compatible with any version of the driver.this might happen because either your card is not supported by the driver or Envy's hardwaredetection failed. You can try the manual installation at your risk.

I run Nvidia Settings and it says --You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server.
Then i run nvidia-xconfig

Using X configuration file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf".
Backed up file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf' as '/etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup'
New X configuration file written to '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'

I go to shell to restart X server with /etc/init.d/gdm stop and start but the problem persist.

Here's the error:
(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (Compatible NVIDIA X driver not found)

1) Are you running Ubuntu inside of an emulator (e.g. virtualbox, vmware, etc.)?

2) Can you try removing this line from your xorg.conf?
Option "UseFBDev" "true"

Then restart the Xserver.

I think you should ask here:

You can show your /var/log/Xorg.0.log there. Nvidia's staff should know the answer there.
