Bug Description

After installing Enchanting 0.0.9.1 on Windows 7 32 bit laptops, the software failed to start (no error message displayed). Right clicking the desktop icon and selecting "Run program as administrator" allowed the software to run correctly.

Does Enchanting create or alters a file on startup? If installed in the program files folder and started in the security context of a normal user, it doesnt' have the right to do that and will fail. Such files should go in Application Data.
I've seen this behaviour with lots of software. Usually installing outside program files solves the problem.

Thanks for the tip. It is an interesting question. Enchanting might try
to create a file called "Enchanting.ini" at startup -- or it may just read
details from it. Hmm... Mind you, if this were the problem, Scratch
wouldn't run under Windows 7 (as I haven't customized anything beyond the
name, and it uses "scratch.ini").

I wonder if the JDK it is using creates temporary files. I think the JDK
is the problem, and hope to offer an alternative to Apache's Harmony JDK,
but, admittedly, haven't looked into it in depth lately.

I'll have to look into this more.
