Bug Description

For my purposes, I have a smallish window size for Empathy. When I am unable to connect to a network because of some error, Empathy displays a message. However since my Empathy window is not wide enough, I cannot read the entire message (see attached screenshot). The only way I was able to read the error message was to widen the window.

I think it can be made more user friendly. One option would be to show a tooltip with the entire error message upon moving the cursor over the message. Another option is to display a dialog box with the error message when clicked on the message.

I would suggest that another chat window could open containing only system messages from the application. These messages would be logged and synced in the same manner as chat logs.

Robert Sajdok, Could you submit the patch in the upstream bug : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626507 ? The empathy developers will comment on the patch.
Also, while setting reviewers for a merge, you need to set the reviewer as either Ubuntu Sponsors or Ubuntu branches and not VCS imports. Can you change that as well in the merge?

I made two branches. First for upstream second for ubuntu/empathy.

Is now everything is fine?
