Required "VCRUNTIME" file doesn't exist.

Just what it says in the summary. I installed this five minutes ago, but it says "The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." Reinstalling produced the same error message.

After a quick file search I found that VCRUNTIME140_1.dll doesn't exist in the Ember files.

No ember.log file exists in the folder, either. The problem only seems to be the missing file.

Do you remember from where you downloaded the installer?

Same problem here. I downloaded from https://dl.bintray.com/worldforge/installers/:Ember-latest.exe.

The first problem was that setup didn't request elevation so it failed with a message saying couldn't open a dll for writing. Which made me realize there is permission problem so I ran it as admin.

After the installation it fails to run with the message that OP mentioned.

Sorry I had to mention my machine is running on a MS Windows 7 x64 v6.1.7601.

The main issue here is that the runtime isn't bundled along with the installer.

Well after the latest commit this should be resolved!

Yep, a new build has been published at https://dl.bintray.com/worldforge/installers/
Could you please try it out and see if it fixes the MSVC installation?
