2013-04-22 22:55:26 James Hudon bug added bug
2013-04-23 11:08:50 James Hudon description Reproduced on 12.10 with emacs-snapshot. Also on 12.04 LTS with emacs24. I don't have any special PDF viewers installed, just the stock Evince. 1. Open PDF file in Emacs 2. Try normal user inputs (mouse scroll, C-p, C-n, n, p, etc.) 3. Expected: UI responds immediately as other PDF viewers do 3. Actual: There are delays between 0.5 to 2 seconds until the UI updates. During the delay, Emacs is frozen. I can't reproduce this with the Emacs 23 provided by Canonical (responsive DocView). However, I *can* repro with Emacs 24 provided by Canonical. Both on Quantal. Reproduced on 12.10 with emacs-snapshot. Also on 12.04 LTS with emacs24. Launch emacs with "emacs -Q" 2. Open a PDF that has pages you can scroll 3. Scroll around (should be responsive) 4. Turn on `M-x global-linum-mode` 5. Ensure the global-linum-mode is enabled and now scroll around. There should be a noticeable lag that makes it really difficult to use.
