Bug Description

Kill off the nasty GNOME dialogs prompting what to do every time you insert a storage device. They list options that are hardly ever used and they're quite obnoxious - I get 4 of them when I connect my phone to the PC. Also, according to Dan, "there's no need to notify me about my own action" (or something like that, can't find the logs).

A side effect of this is that new devices are no longer mounted on connecting them; instead they're mounted on accessing them via GUI (via PolicyKit, not true on-access mount as in AutoFS). I don't think this is going to be an issue.

So glad you guys are doing this, little things like this make the user experience better. Now if we could get a nice gui to enable the minimize button... ;)

Here's an idea.

When you insert a storage device, an notification (Pantheon Notifications, not Notify-Osd) should appear and have some buttons to choose what you want to do. After that, lets say, 5 seconds, it disappears.

+1 on dx-richard's idea. it must be something that does not annoy the user.

Based on revision 60 of lp:~elementary-os/elementaryos/pantheon-xsession-settings, I don't think this exists anymore.

Right now I have to mount disks manually in Pantheon-files. Manually meaning clicking on them. If budged by accident and disconnected, you have to click to remount. A notification would be great. Not a long duration, something simple, easy to code and write tests for. Any automount options in view?
