maybe "don't show contact list" is a more proper fix ^^

And it's very easy to implement in fact. I wonder if Dexter is ready for being the only contact list...

No because Empathy is not designed to be used like that. You still need the menus from the contact list in order to manage accounts, set channels to auto join, and other crap like that.

Remember, at this point in the cycle we're just trying to fix bugs and make things stable. Let's take all the ideas for changing things up and shelve them for Luna + 1. We'll have plenty of time to make experimental changes next cycle.
