Bug Description

Elementary Jupiter x86_64, pressed the Print Scr key on my keyboard and the screenshot tool pops up showing a blank screen? This also happens in Shutter.

The screenshot if saved is black, but shows the mouse cursor ontop.

Running in VirtualBox, but I believe the problem exists on real hardware (unconfirmed).

I can't reproduce this problem. Must be a VirtualBox driver bug, its 3D driver is known to cause lots of various issues with the kernel and X.

This is affecting me too, I think the only notable thing I've done differently was install my ATI/AMD drivers.

Just to note this also affects videos, here's an example:

This is affecting me too, and I use the exact same video drivers I used on Ubuntu. I am using the latest ATI binary drivers, which could be part of the issue, but I use them to fix a bug that otherwise makes LyX unusable. As I said, if it works in Ubuntu, it should work in Elementary.

Very odd - but I can take snapshots that aren't blank right now. They show up the way my desktop was 3 hours ago!
I managed to get the second screen to go black (its playing VLC), and the clock is correct (on my cairo-dock), but the rest of the desktop is 3 hours old.

I'll save these in case someone needs to see them, but I don't see the point in posting unless you want to see them

I take that back - the second image (with the black 2nd screen) does have a different screen on it, but its also 3 hours old, just not the same 3 hour old image as before. I don't understand how the clock is right but the rest of the desktop is somehow random images from 3 hours ago.

WEIRD!

OK - the clock on the dock is anywhere from a minute to 10 minutes old depending on the screen shot. I'm thinking its not compositing the image correctly because its not locating the individual pieces that are being composited. This worked under Ubuntu with Compiz. I'm using the default WM now. Compiz does not seem to run correctly :/ Windows don't move, but screenshots now work.

This might give a clue as to how to fix the bug. Its the window manager.
