unable to login after changing password

Bug Description
I did the following:
- Opened system settings
- User accounts
- Changed my password
- rebooted
- tried logging in.
- Screen goes black, then the login screen pops up.
- went to the console
- changed my password to previous password (using passwd or something)
- rebooted
- Was able to login again.
I'm using a fresh install of the latest elementary os (installed like an hour ago)
I did choose for home folder encryption.
