Bug Description

When writing inside a page HTML form (i.e. google search input field, this textarea etc...) you have to press twice the letter to capitalize (holding the "shift") to write one.
Same behavior with CTRL or ALT-GR

For example to select all I need to press this keyboard sequence to get the shorcut working.

CTRL+A+A
(seems like missing the first input key, in the example the first "A")

I am using Elementary OS Loki
Italian keyboard.
Verified even with Guest user
Verified w onscreen keyboard

Verified issue with US keyboard layout as well.

I would assume this has something to do with a fix for the bug reported where, on Facebook, the first capital letter would appear twice.

In my opinion, I'd rather have to delete an extra letter on just facebook than to have to double tap letters everywhere else.

I posted this upstream (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=778539). Apparently, it may be fixed in 3.18.11 (which has an important security update anyway) but I'm not sure how to test it.

I built 3.18.11 and indeed it is fixed there, so I think the fix is to merge the changes from upstream

Sorry for this regression. I messed up backporting the fix for the Facebook issue to 3.18, and didn't notice until right when I was releasing 3.18.11.

Found a workaround by user BradPitcher here:
http://elementaryos.stackexchange.com/questions/10529/ctrl-whatever-and-shift-whatever-require-double-tap

This bug was introduced in 3.18.10 and is fixed in 3.18.11 with this commit. You can wait for the updated package to come down the pipeline or make the change yourself as I did:

% sudo apt-get install build-essential
% sudo apt-get build-dep epiphany-browser
% apt-get source epiphany-browser
% cd epiphany-browser-3.18.10
Make the changes from the commit I linked to: edit src/ephy-window.c, make a new line after line 882 and put the code return TRUE;
% dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc
% cd ..
% sudo dpkg -i epiphany-browser*.deb
% sudo apt-get -f install

It did the Job :)
