Bug Description
Using elementary OS 0.4.
Choosing a custom wallpaper that is not in the default wallpaper directory (or one of the pre-selected wallpapers that ship with the OS) cause following logins to take substantially longer than normal. Once the user password has been typed and submitted, it can take 2-3 minutes for elementary to load.

Are you certain this is caused by custom wallpapers?
This sounds like a duplicate of bug #1622418. Please advise if this is not the case.
