Bug Description

I've been using elementary OS for three days now and every day so far I've experienced 2 - 4 full freezes. I can still move the mouse around but cannot click anywhere and none of the keys will do anything.

It SEEMS to occur when I'm doing things FAST (e.g. switching between desktops, launching an application, switching back, focusing in a textfield, all very snappy). It also SEEMS to occur after I've been using it for a couple of hours (so, not on a "fresh" boot). (Does that indicate something RAM-ish?)

What I CAN do to get out of any initial freeze is press (FN +) CTRL + ALT + F1 (first function key to allow me to press F1; you wouldn't need this on non-Macs) to get into the terminal and then (FN +) CTRL + ALT + F7 to get back into the GUI. This has been my, erm, "workaround" so far as having to reboot completely several times a day isn't so great considering productivity. Once today, though, after JUST getting back into the GUI using CTRL + ALT + F7, the system froze again after only a few seconds and THIS time, even CTRL + ALT + F1 didn't do anything :(

About my system: I'm on a 2009 Macbook Pro in dualboot. It's been improved a little by replacing the HDD with a hybrid SSD/HDD and I've also increased the RAM to 8 GB.

(I gotta say though, elementary OS is working like a breeze apart from that. I'm impressed. The random freezes are the only thing preventing me from adopting eOS as my main OS so I hope stability will improve! Big thank-you to all the developers who are making eOS possible.)

I was using eOS Luna until last week when I moved to Freya. I have the same problem in Freya.

I am using this OS in a virtual machine (VMWare 11, just like the one I was using with eOS Luna). I never had seen this on eOS Luna.

System:
i5 4670 3.4ghz
16Gb Ram (5 Gb in the eOS VM)
