Reselect previously selected audio input (e.g. USB webcam)

I'm using a Logitech webcam at work for Skype. Connecting and using it works fine.

But for using its much better microphone I have to select it from the system settings after connecting it - every time. Instead it should be reselected automatically on reconnect based on whether the user explicitly selected/preferred it before.

Would be very nice to have this streamlined in the upcoming release Freya.
