Bug Description

When I run the installer for Elementary, about halfway through the installation it says there's been an error installing Grub2. It only happens on UEFI hardware.

To fix this, the Elementary team needs to update the software on their master computer and recreate the ISO. This problem happened in Ubuntu 14.04, but has now been fixed. The ISO file hasn't been updated since August 11, 2013.

I tried this workaround, and this time the installation concluded correctly, but the new installation won't boot, it kicks me to Grub rescue.

Both times I used the 20140730 ISO.

I think that the Grub installation fails without Internet because the included package database has broken dependencies for the relevant package.

When I'm connected to the internet, ubiquity updates the package database after copying to the hard drive, but before installing Grub. So that broken dependency problem gets solved.

The part where I'm still being kicked to a Grub rescue prompt may be unrelated.
