Bug Description
I filed a bug with Plank but the developer was quite hostile to the idea that Plank should expose an option to turn off notifications. It can however be done in the theme.
Please change the default theme so that when full screen & plank is set to auto hide that notifications do not show. The point of full screening an application is to work without distraction, and if you get a jarring red blinking area at the bottom of the screen every time somebody IMs you that is quite disruptive. (Note that turning off notifications in empathy does not affect whether or not plank shows notifications for empathy.)
I've switched to docker as a result.
