Bug Description

Some websites other than launchpad let you upload files, and when I browsed files to attach to those sites, I noticed that this rather ugly icon appears. I don't know if this occurs before attaching a file or afterwards, but I'm pretty sure that this process causes this icon to appear. You can move it to the trash, but it appears again occasionally in the same attachment process, maybe if some kind of update reinstalls the File Manager - or some other component. I'm not sure...

Thanks for your report! I've noticed it too, but I couldn't nail down the precise conditions under which it occurs.

As you can see in a duplicate bug, I've patched special handling for desktop folder out of two components but it appears that's not enough.

For the record, which web browser do you use?

I use firefox.

Another thing: once the website recognizes the attachment, and the desktop icon is deleted, somehow the bug can't be repeated on the same website again. At least that's what I recall. I'll try repeating it on a different website and show you on the original bug report.
