When I record my screen using those tools, the videos show just a black screen and the mouse cursor: http://youtu.be/j1z5sCwg9Yg

Proprietary AMD/ATI drivers are not supported because support for pantheon/gnome-shell/mutter is still in development. You are fortunate you get video at all compared to some of the worse fglrx issues reported.
