Hello,

the default ubuntu wifi panel is very hard to use for an average
user.
The sad part is that it's used very often. Very very often.
I think it reflects badly on the overall distribution.

I think that both the menu and the panel deserve a much needed
redesign.

In fact indicator-network is the "something better" we're looking for; the thing we ship currently is networkmanager-gnome patched by Ubuntu (AFAIR).

Either way, the switch should be done upstream because of backend differences.
