Bug Description

bug reported by an ehcp user at http://ehcp.net/?q=node/1029

he says:
I have noticed that when a domain is removed via the panel that it erases all the associated files but the domain/httpdocs/webstats/index.php is left behind. Even after manually removing the directory it returns within a few hours...

having domain files re-appear after you delete, is not a good think, i think..
and users will get confused..
why do you think it is good ?

it is not webfile, it is webstats tmp folder which the program makes for itself to collect new states data, it needs to make a folder for itself to give updated information, because its is updating itself, and that is how it gives updated status information in the user control panel, this is not a bug, if user dose not want this, then they can untill the program or stop the webstats cron job (that will stop it updating itself)

I think its confusing for normal users. You delete a domain all records should be deleted. If you stop the cron job for webalizer wont you not be able to populate stats for other domains?

Phillip Beckford (budgierless) wrote :

this is true, but webalizer is a part script based program, so it needs webspace to work, i think the only way around this is to 1. replace the program, 2. leave it alone or 3. try bundling a pre-configured version into ehcp setup the same way like squirrelmail is and renaming the folder something like (httpdocs system-files)

so users know not to touch that folder because it part of the install.

I think were looking at this two different ways. Once a domain is deleted it shouldn't reappear with any file structure in place. That domain is no longer existent so ehcp needs to remove the entry it added to start producing stats

agree, will do that way,
ehcp currently produces webstats.sh file,
i will update it soon.

well it should be keep in ehcp to check our website stats and its file usages....... its not a bug, but there should be option to enable or disable it via client control panel for his/her domain.
Thank You

config option added "enablewebstats", can be viewed and changed in ehcp->options gui.
