Bug Description

Sometimes keyboard does not work on boot. I experienced it also sometimes earlier, but comes up more frequently with the latest image. The touch pad works, so the machine can be easily rebooted, and then keyboard works fine.

This happen even to me and I have a report of the same problem from another person.
When I forget to left inserted in the sd slot my sd card for a few seconds during the boot, happen more and even the touchpad doesn't work.

I had this issue even in with Ubuntu 10.10 with Everun Note ( with Turion X2 processor), so look like a problem of kernel with Ubuntu 10.10 with some particular hardware configuration.

the fix is to add usb in modules for initramfs as follow :

modify /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and add

# USB keyboard at boot
usbcore
uhci_hcd
ehci_hcd
usbhid

then update-initramfs -u ill add (permanently) the usb modules, keyboard and mouse also.
