Hi
Your instructions worked; sort off. The screen rewrite works normally
however there seems to be another problem. Program ICONS seems to
temporarily disappear and then reappear. Example, in the 'Administration'
screen the lower half of the program icons disappear eg. from 'Services'
through to 'User and Groups'. You can't even clip on the vacant spots to
made them return. You can occasionally get them to return by changing to say
'Preferences' and returning to 'Administration'. Moving the side sider down
the window sometimes the lower half of the appears or suddenly disappears.

Tell me about playing DVDs At present only certain DVDs can be played.
Mainly older or cheaper ones. The latest ones either come up with the error
code 'Can't read the resources' or 'Don't have permissions..' What do these
error codes mean and how you get around these errors and play all DVDs?

I look froward to hearing from you

Hello Robert,

I don't know how to help further with your redraw issues. Maybe you will
need to activate the proprietary video drivers if you have not done so
already, or tweak the video settings. Without detailed specs about your
machine it's hard to tell.

About the DVD playback, that should be easy. You are missing the codec
to read DSS encrypted DVDs (part of the feeble plan from the
entertainment industry to prevent pirating their precious content).
You need to install libdvdcss2 from the Medibuntu repository
http://www.medibuntu.org/, and use VLC as your media player for DVDs. If
you search for VLC in the Ubuntu forums, I'm sure you will find
instructions about making it the default player for your DVDs.

Thank you. Re the screen rewrite problem; why does Version 1.1 of Easy
Peasy work correctly and the next version doesn't?

Hi again
HELP. Can you please help?
Did what you suggested and loaded VCL Media Player along with Libdvdcss2
however I still can not play all DVDs. What have I done wrong?

I have also have noticed I have problems with the inbuilt WEBCAM. The
operating system doesn't recognize it's existence. How can this be fixed?

The problem seems to have gone away, although I still have partial
screen rewrites from time to time. What happens is that icons in UNR
remain when I switch tabs.
