Bug Description

Thunderbird is my email client. Links included in emails do not open whether or not Epiphany is running. Both libstdc++5 and libstdc++6 are installed. System is a EeePC 900A Easypeasy 1.1 updated this morning, June 29, 2009 pared back substantially. Firefox was removed by the Synaptics Package Manager at the same time as Epiphany (Gecko) was installed.

I tried three times before the download of 1.5 completed. However, the
USB stick will boot but leaves me staring at an (initramfs) prompt.
There are some flashes which I cannot decipher. ./init only produces
the Ubuntu splash.

What must one enter to continue the process which I imagine leads to
either an install prompt or an X NBR screen?

Forgive my tardiness in replying. The specific problem is no longer
present in 1.5. Upgrading settings from 1.1 to 1.5 has a tendency to
create problems with the window manager as well as asus eee specific
functions don't work well. Also the touchpad tapping issue resurged and
the solution still escapes me. I did a clean re-install and manually
eliminated evolution, firefox, openoffice, etc. I then installed the
lightweight substitutes, tested Thunderbird and Epiphany, had to change
system preferences and they work together as normal. The Thunderbird
Lightning extension needs libstdc++5 to run and that requires some
experience to implement.

It seems a better release than before but as I have so many changes to
make from a basic install, I do wish for a configuration utility and the
inclusion of the asus_eee module for 2.6.30.5 kernel.
