metacity's huge side border is consuming too much unnecessary screen space

Bug Description
Aesthetically, I like the look and feel of the new metacity's side borders. However, screen real estate is too precious these days to be consumed by window borders.
I suggest tweaking this to consume less space and/or adding an option to have a thinner metacity.
