I assume this report was against the head revision of DRU? As long as it is past this revision:

I'll take a look as soon as I get some time - may have to be next week.

This excerpt shows that the dpkg-buildpackage command was not found:

+ sudo /bin/bash /home/rtg/dru/dru-framework/rules start /home/rtg/dru/rtg
/home/rtg/dru/dru-framework/rules: line 11: dpkg-buildpackage: command not found

Try doing an apt-get install dpkg-dev. The installer should have installed this for you,
but as we both know the installer was the last thing written, it was probably buggy when
you used it.

It needs dpkg-dev and debhelper.

Strange.. the install script should install both of those packages by default.

http://linux.dell.com/hg/dru/file/257eb6e267d5/doc/install-gui.sh

The DEPENDS array includes both of those packages. Can someone else reproduce this?
I don't have an Ubuntu development machine at the moment.

As it turns out, the only real problem is that the skeleton pool is not populated by default with dpkg-dev_1.13.24ubuntu6_all.deb.

The other failures were the result of my not being able to run the install correctly.

That shouldn't be necessary unless you are using the pool files. If this
is causing an error (and you don't have any pool files), then this is a
bug.

I would like to transfer this as a feature request, to remove the
necessity for dpkg-dev in the diff pool if possible. I haven't found a
good way to get rid of this requirement yet.
