Bug Description

The names of the Ubuntu Core packages are inconsistant.
Here is the list of packages available from "touch-core" package:
   ubuntu-calculator-app
   calendar-app
   ubuntu-clock-app
   ubuntu-weather-app
   ubuntu-filemanager-app
   rssreader-app
   ubuntu-terminal-app
   sudoku-app
   stock-ticker-mobile-app
   dropping-letters
   reminders-app
   music-app
I think it should have common naming convention (for example "ubuntu-<appname>-app" )

The similar situation is with Core application executables.
For example to run Calculator you must type command:
   ubuntu-calculator-app
But to run calendar app you must specify following command:
  calendar-app
I think it should be similar names (for example "ubuntu-<appname>-app" or "touch-<appname>-app")

The package touch-coreapps is confusing for novice users. I think is should have similar name as core apps (for example "ubuntu-core-apps" )

summary: - Package names and executable names are not consistent.
+ Package names and executable names for ubuntu-core-apps are not
+ consistent.

The original intent was to not use an ubuntu- prefix anywhere, as ubuntu is the os. So if any cleanup is done perhaps thats the way to go, and will be consistent with the other pre-installed apps.

@core-app-devs, please defer this to post 14.04 cycle since we do not want to be messing around with the executable file and cmake changes this late in the cycle.

I agree with Pat and this was the direction Music app was given when we started the project. I don't think the music app will need to take any action to assimilate to any naming/packaging framework/scheme for the core apps.

Yes, +1 for cleanup to be in the direction of dropping ubuntu. Honestly, I'd drop the -app everywhere too, but perhaps that's just me :-)

So when one can expect (if ever) to get consistent naming for ubuntu-core-apps.
