Trackpad doesn't work in custom layout

Bug Description
When I create a custom layout with mode "trackpad" (even with the Sample layout for editing supplied by the site), the controller act as a "sensor mouse", moving through accelerometer, and the trackpad area doesn't respond.
With the default trackpad setting instead, it works perfectly.
