syslog causing crash on shutdown rhel5

Bug Description

Running on RHEL5 with the pre-build RPMS

$ rpm -q drizzle7
drizzle7-2011.03.11-1.el5

When I enable the syslog.logging-enable setting, I get crashes when I issue a 'shutdown' to drizzled from the drizzle cli . See attached output.

To elaborate. When I remove syslog.logging-enable from my cnf file, the issue doesn't happen.
