RecentDocuments docklet not showing

Running Docky 2.0.7 - new installation on Ubuntu 10.10. I enabled the Network Manager and recent document docklets, but neither of them appears in the dock. "docky -d" doesn't give any errors, in fact there's a message that "recent documents" was loaded (though not network manager).

Regardless, Docky is a hugely attractive alternative to the new UNE.

Try this:

1) quit Docky
2) rm -Rf ~/.local/share/docky/plugins
3) restart Docky
4) open prefs, re-enable those docklets on your dock

No go. The Network Manager docklet still doesn't appear in the preferences, and the Recent Documents docklet, while enabled, still doesn't display in the dock. I couldn't see any relevant error messages, either.

The network-manager docklet isnt installed with the ubuntu package due some limitations of the available dbus-bindings in lucid and maverick

@Yaron: Make sure the recent docs is enabled in prefs, then run this command from terminal and give me the output

Using the latest development build of Docky (2.1 bzr r1658) under Ubuntu 10.10 x86-64 and also seem to be missing a few docklets. Although for me it's the *bookmarks* and *network monitor* docklets that are missing, they're not even shown in the list of available docklets anymore.

@Simone: if you don't mind can you file a new bug report with that stack trace? Your problem is a different bug. This bug is about plugins that basically just arent there and give no errors.

i put the dock wherever i happen to want it on the day, it roams from the top to the bottom to the sides, it dosn't show whever i put it [recent documents]

@Eric: can I get you to start docky from a terminal as 'docky --debug', let the dock load, disable/enable the Recent Documents docklet (I just need the log to include any output from enabling it, so disable it if its currently enabled and then re-enable it).

Then attach the entire log output to this bug.

It doesnt seem that you disabled and re-enabled the plugin. Your log just shows it loading the plugin on startup.

I disabled all the plugins, closed docky then open it again.
Check the times:
21:36:05.963 - 21:36:08.333 -> Startup
21:36:23.701 -> Click on docky settings icon
21:36:32.428 -> Click on Recent Documents' enable button

I need to know what version of Docky everyone is using. Only 2 of you have given that information. Some of you (Lee and Simone) seem to be affected by a different bug and are probably on the 2.1.0 branch. The rest I assume are on the 2.0.x branch unless you specifically comment to correct me.

Eric, that is still the 2.0.x branch, as I said earlier. I suspect that this problem only exists in 2.0.x and is resolved in 2.1.0. Feel free to install our Dev PPA to test my theory.

Indeed, 2.1.0 works on Ubuntu 10.10 64bit.
Later I'll test it on 10.04 32bit just to be sure.
