For applet appearance is used mimetype icon "text-x-generic" and applet itself is visible only when there are some recent documents.
1./ On mouse hover is visible (propably most recently) opened file and with mousewheel you can scroll though rest of them. Left single-click will re-open that selected/scrolled document again.
2./ Right-click on applet will display a menu with recent items and you're able to choose and open one of your choice.
Proposed behavior >
For applet appearance is used action icon "document-open-recent" and applet behavior is like stacks in Mac, AWN or Cairo Dock.
1./ Mouse hover will display only applet name "Recent Documents".
2./ Left single-click will open stack of recent items, default animation could be Fan and available will be also Grid and List.
3./ Right-click on applet will display a pup-up menu with enties "Settings" and "Clear Recent Documents"
Configure will display options where you can choose from those 3 stacks animations (from dropdown menu, like in Docky theme settings) You could also add checkbox for applet visibility, something like "Always visible" so it will be always visible in Docky, even if there are no recent item (cleared history) - in this case could tooltip on mouse hover display not "Recent Document" but "No Recent Documents.."
And that's it :) |
