can't pin chrome to docky on ubuntu 13.10

I have just installed ubuntu 13.10, docky and google chrome. The browser is accessible via the unity dash, and I can pin it to unity's launcher, but it is not possible to pin it to docky. When I right-click the chrome icon in docky (while it is open), the option to pin it to docky does not show up.

Also affects Linux Mint 16 / Cinnamon.
Docky version is 2.2.0-1.
google-chrome-stable has version 32.0.1700.107-1.

I have the same issue after a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit.

that crunchbang fix worked for me but now there are two chrome icons: one that launches the app and one that is the currently running app. If I launch the app (regardless of how) I have two icons.

Same issue here.
You can run chromium instead of chrome if you want docky or
run cairo dock instead of docky? I was lucky to keep Awant window Navigator on one computer that I upgraded from Ubuntu 13.

I found out a solve for this problem on this page:

I tried, and it worked, so I am glad. :-)
You should edit the file /usr/share/applications/google-chrome.desktop, but the bug is still in Docky I think?
