Bug Description

By placing the mouse on the bottom of the screen, you can not click on the icons of the applications, it is necessary to move the mouse a little upwards.
This undermines the usability, especially when using a touchpad.

That's true for every single gnome applet, at least for me. Nothing to do with dockbar.

Sorry, compiz were the reason for that every application behaved that way. In metacity it's indeed only dockbarx that behaves this way. I'll look into it.

Ok¸the reason seems to be the eventboxes dockbarx uses for the buttons. The are don't register events on their edges for some reason. The sollution is probably to make replace the event boxes with buttons and paint them over, but that's not on top of my priority list.

other applets, like the clock/weather applet DONT have this issue, so it's not just a compiz bug

I use the ppa:dockbar-main/ppa, version x.0.24.1-1 on latest Ubuntu Lucid Beta.

x.0.24.1-1 on latest Ubuntu Lucid Beta here as well. Bug confirmed on at least default and human-bar themes, and top of the screen. Ubuntu applets and things such as Skype and Dropbox do not have this issue.

The bugfix is in bzr branch revision 143 (newer than x.0.24.1-1). It fixed the problem for me on karmic.

It's been a while now, yes. Probably when the preview feature has been tested a bit more. In a week or so I would guess, but I'm moving to a new apparment this week so no promises.

I’ll be waiting for the repo update, reporting back if it does not work. Thanks!

Yes, I had to switch back to gtk.eventbox from gtk.button again to get badges working. I'll see if I find a way to fix this problem that doesn't evolve changing to gtk.button or find a way to get badges working nicely with gtk.buttons.
