Bug Description
This was requested a while ago, but I feel there was a miscommunication between me, the original bug poster, and some of the devs.
Basically, it'd be wonderful if the plugins had an API call to request that their sources be re-indexed. Quite a few of us are working on plugins whose sources are context dependent, and would love the ability to request a refresh, rather than waiting for the next cycle of refreshes.
Again, this should be an option for the plugins, not the actual user.

We're in complete agreement, no more miscommunication :)
This might even be a duplicate of an existing bug, but I can't seem to find it right now.
