Bug Description

Im using an up to date ubuntu karmic, and have gnome-do configured to work with the docky theme. However, every time I restart my computer, gnome-do starts in classic mode. If I go to preferences->appearence the theme is still setted to docky, so I have to change it to another thing, and then reselect docky for things to work.

Could this has something to do with the fact that classic is used when desktop effects are not enabled?? Im using desktop effects, but perhaps its related somehow.

Yes that is exactly the problem. Do is starting before your compositor, so it is defaulting back to the non-composited theme. In theory, it should get notified of the compositor loading and reload to your Docky theme but I suspect there is a wierd race condition that prevents that.

The easy workaround for now is to add a 3-5 second sleep to your gnome-do script, so that it waits a bit when loading and lets the compositor finish loading first.
