Bug Description

The plug-in detects the contact names, but the only option it gives is "Copy to clipboard" for any contact. I'm not sure exactly when this bug appeared, I will try installing older versions of all the parties involved, to see which makes a difference.

Same bug on Sabayon 4.2 with gnome-do-plugins-0.8.2.
Appears with gnome-do-0.8.0, 0.8.2, pidgin-2.5.7, 2.5.8.
Seems copying pidgin.dll from version higher than 0.8.0 and lower than 0.8.2 of gnome-do-plugins could be a temp-fix. Does anyone have that file?

From version 0.8.2 plugins are stored as .maddin files instead of .dll files so copying them is impossible due to incompatibility. Pidgin plugin from 0.8.2 must be fixed by a developer.

I've got the problem with msn, jabber and icq, so it's not network-related.

The 'chat' action does not show up at all while I'm searching for some contact. The icon that shows up in docky after I click on the contact, on the other hand, does have a menu item to start the chat.

I think the problem may lie with Pidgin and not the plug-in. By default, the package for Ubuntu comes with the Compile with D-Bus flag turned off, and I believe that the plug-in relies on D-Bus to send the command to pidgin.

Same problem here, the thing is that it worked when i had installed it under 10.10 64bits without any problem, but when this week i reinstalled the 32bit version of Maverick pidgin gnome-do functionality was gone.

The problem is the same as describer in earlier posts, "Copy to clipboard" instead of "chat", i don't get an option to do a chat.
