Bug Description

After recent updates to GNOME do, my linux machine is now like windows in that it randomly has a process that eats 100% of the CPU... That process is now GNOME do. I kill the process and regain the ability to use my computer, stop my fan from going crazy, and stop my processor from overheating at least twice a day.

What plugins do you have enabled? Can you run Do with --debug from a console and append a log for when the CPU usage spikes?

Same problem here Ubuntu 9.04 64bits, currently I have the following plugins enabled:

Banshee Media Player
Evolution
Files and Folders
Gnome terminal
Locate
Pidgin
Window manager
Weather Docklet

Next time it goes "nuts" I'll try to debug it from a console.

Ok it happened again today, here is the log from the console. It looks that the banshee plugin is the one to blame, but I'll leave it to the "pros" as I'm just an user not a coder.

There is definitely a problem with the Banshee plugin/indexer going crazy. We are looking into that problem.

bigdrf24: are you using that plugin?

Can you also tell us what version of Banshee you're using?

I have the same bug with Ubuntu 9.10, gnome-do starts to use the cpu at 100% at every boot of the machine. Killing its process and restarting it solve the situation.

All the other (duplicate) bugs (except this one) mention startup.
I'm getting random Do 100% CPU usage. Sometimes after startup but <also> at other times.
I'm on Karmic 2.6.31.14 and only happened since I installed Docky sererately a few days ago.
I've just read that maybe it's related to the Banshee plugin so I've just disabled that.
If someone tells me how, I'm happy to try to provide any necessary info.
