Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-do

Attempting to open a directory such as "~/" or "~/Desktop" doesn't work as of recent times. Gnome-Do recognizes that it is a directory and offers to open it, but it silently fails. The terminal output is:

Error showing url: Error stating file '/home/yelena/~/Desktop': No such file or directory

It seems to be expanding it and then appending the entire entry.

In addition, the error perhaps contains a typo, where "stating" should be "starting".

Thanks! :)

Yeah, I see that. xdg-open needs us to expand ~ before passing it the path.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-do - 0.6.1.0-0ubuntu2

---------------
gnome-do (0.6.1.0-0ubuntu2) intrepid; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/05_fix_localised_theme_setting:
    + Use the index of the selected theme rather than text of the theme
      when setting the UI preference. The text is now correctly translated,
      so using the text no longer works (LP: #280719).
  * debian/patches/06_expand_homedir_in_open:
    + Expand '~' in strings for the Open action (LP: #280540).
