Firefox plugin fails to install

Bug Description

On both my desktop (regular Karmic) and AcerOne (Karmic UNR) the Firefox bookmarks plugin (v3.0) fails to install. In Preferences, the regular icon is replaced by a cross. Both machines run GNOME Do 0.8.2 installed from the repos.

On the UNR, terminal outputs "Firefox.PlacesItemSource "Firefox Places" encountered an error in UpdateItems: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." (similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/do-plugins/+bug/395485) The desktop had this issue, but this seems to be gone after my upgrade to Karmic.
