Bug Description

Since Gnome 2.28 does not use hal for mounting, DiskMounter Plugin can no longer interact with Gnome, e.g. DMP is unable to unmount drives mounted by Gnome.

I've also found a similar kind of behaviour with the Disk Mounter Plugin, but I can only unmount drives and not mounting them again. If i try to do so i got this error in ~/.xsession-errors:

[Error 20:27:42.842] Mountt operation failed Unable to mount the selected volume., detail: mount: can't find /dev/sdb2 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

I think the cause of this error message is the same as suggested in the previous post. Same cause, different effects. Different bugs??

The mount/unmount behavior was already unreliable in Jaunty, we might need to switch to use gio sharp, but it seems not in the repository. Should we pack it ourselves?

Chris S/Alex already are packaging their own GIO# in Docky. You can probably make use of that.
