Bug Description

Hi,

after launching Do, it will run for a few seconds then crash with the message:

Do: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.

I am running Ubuntu 9.04, and have built Do from source. The problem persists even after restarting X. Happy to provide any other details that would help diagnose this.

Many thanks,
Steve

Can you provide your X log, and what drivers you're using?

I think I am using the standard Intel driver for my chipset (intel_drv.so), from the Jaunty xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9 package.

Here's what lspci has to say:

$ lspci | grep -i vga
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)

And lsmod:

$ lsmod

I think is log is pre-crash, can you give us Xorg.0.log.old?

I'm not sure anything is being written to the Xorg log when it crashes, I just ran Do and checked the log size before and after it crashed, no change. Anyway, here is the file anyway.

Yah, nothing there. Can you redirect gnome-do --debug to a file and see if
there's anything useful in that file?

Ok, this could be useful.

As I was making the file I noticed that Do crashed just after the Window Manager plugin had finished reloading its items. I restarted Do and disabled that plugin in time before it crashed, it has been running fine since then. If you want I can raise a bug in the do-plugins project instead?

This whole time I thought X was crashing. I'm going to assign this to Jason,

Ah, sorry if that wasn't clear. X isn't crashing, just Do.

Does this still happen on latest trunk?

I have just updated to the latest trunk versions of do and do-plugins, and am seeing the same problem.
