Bug Description
This happens frequently, but not always, I think...
When I try to log out from Gnome session the machine freezes. Both panels get killed, and all applications are closed, but I am not given the login screen. All that can be seen on the monitor is my gnome wallpaper image.
The mouse cursor can be moved, but Ctrl-Alt-Backspace or Ctrl-Alt-F1 etc. doesn't do anything. The only thing that works is the power button, which causes the system to shut down gracefully.
Selecting Shutdown or Reboot instead of the Log out works just the way they should.

Thank you for your bug. If Ctrl-Alt-F1 doesn't do anything that's not likely to be a GNOME bug, rather an xorg or linux one. Do you have any error to /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog?
